Campus Life Orientation for New Students (PKKMB) Faculty of Tourism 2025 - Day Two
Jimbaran - Friday, August 15, 2025. The Faculty of Tourism at Udayana University held the second day of its Campus Life Orientation for New Students (PKKMB) Ksatria Parayana 2025, focusing on student motivation, campus life, and strengthening a sense of community. The event took place in the Widya Sabha Building and around the Faculty of Tourism.
The day began early at 4:00 AM Central Indonesia Time (WITA), with the organizing committee preparing the venue. By 5:45 AM, the committee moved to the Faculty of Tourism to welcome the new students, who started arriving at 6:00 AM. After gathering in the flag field, the students were checked for their required attributes and belongings before being guided to the Widya Sabha Building. Hindu students were directed to the Padmasana for prayers, while other students remained in formation.
The indoor program kicked off at 8:30 AM with an opening ceremony, followed by a presentation from successful alumni and high-achieving students. This was followed by a Q&A session and a certificate presentation for the speakers. Next, a Student Organization Parade introduced new students to the various campus groups. This included an introduction to the BSO (Semi-Autonomy Students Body), followed by the BPM (Student Representative Body of Udayana University), BEM (Student Executive Body of Udayana University), HMPS SPAR (Student Union of The Bachelor of Tourism Program), HMPS IPW (Student Union of The Tourism Industry Management Program), and HMPS STPP (Student Union of The Hotel Management Program). The goal of this session was to help new students understand the structure, programs, and contributions of each organization.
After a break for lunch and prayer, the orientation continued with a presentation on the upcoming Dies Natalis (University Anniversary), the Student Credit Point (SKP) system, and various campus activities. Students also learned about campus clubs like soccer, arts, badminton, and basketball, as well as the Jegeg Bagus (Beauty and Talent Contest for Women/Jegeg and Men/Bagus) Faculty of Tourism program.
In the afternoon, the winners of the yell-chant competition were announced and performed their winning chants. The monitoring and evaluation team then announced which students successfully completed the orientation. A video featuring the committee was shown, followed by a chant for the Dies Natalis (Anniversary of Udayana University) before everyone moved back to the Faculty of Tourism. Upon returning to the faculty, students participated in a 60-minute "explore" campus tour, which was followed by a tree-planting activity. The day concluded with the committee chairman officially dismissing the participants. The organizing committee then stayed behind to clean up the Widya Sabha Building until 7:25 PM.
The second day of the orientation was a success, marked by great enthusiasm from everyone involved. It helped new students become more familiar with the campus environment, understand the role of student organizations, and prepare to contribute to academic and extracurricular life at the Faculty of Tourism.
