Pre-Campus Life Orientation for New Students at Faculty of Tourism, 2025
Jimbaran - Saturday, 9th of August, 2025. The Faculty of Tourism at Udayana University held its first Pre-Campus Life Orientation for New Students (Pra PKKMB), kicking off a series of events for the 2025 orientation. This online event, held via Zoom, was designed to introduce new students to campus life, build a sense of community, and prepare them for the main orientation program.
The day began early with the committee's preparations at 5:00 AM WITA. At 6:00 AM WITA, the Spiritual Committee led a communal prayer at Padmasana. This was followed by a briefing at 6:25 AM WITA, where the Committee Chair ensured all members were ready for the event. By 6:55 AM WITA, the team was in place, preparing for the day's activities.
At 7:25 AM WITA, students were directed to the main Zoom room. Group leaders collected photos of the students' assigned attributes and belongings, while the Disciplinary Committee checked that everyone's name format was correct and that they had all the required items.
The official opening ceremony began at 8:00 AM WITA. The MC welcomed everyone, followed by a prayer, and the singing of the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," and the Udayana Hymn by all participants. The event continued with a report from the PKKMB Committee Chair, who outlined the program's goals, and a speech from the Leader of the Faculty of Tourism Student Executive Board (BEM), who officially opened the Pra PKKMB 2025.
At 8:40 AM WITA, the MC guided students into different breakout rooms. In these smaller groups, students participated in a 90-minute bonding session to build teamwork, communication, and a sense of community.
Students returned to the main room at 10:20 AM WITA for an introduction to the sacred book, led by the Disciplinary Committee. The Audiovisual Committee then presented a video introducing the campus. At 11:05 AM WITA, the MC announced a pre-test, and group leaders shared the Google Form link with their respective groups.
As the event neared its end at 11:25 AM WITA, the MC assigned the first task to students as part of their orientation preparation. This was followed by a group photo at 11:45 AM WITA, guided by the MC and taken by the Documentation Committee. The event officially concluded at 12:00 PM WITA.
The successful event was the result of excellent coordination among the committees, group leaders, and students. Through this orientation, new students at the Faculty of Tourism are expected to not only understand the rules and regulations but also to begin building a sense of togetherness, discipline, and commitment to becoming ethical, integrated tourism professionals who can contribute positively to the campus and the world of sustainable tourism.
